This post was suppose to come on Thursday, then Friday, but I’m now just getting around to it because we have been very busy partying and then settling back into work. Better late, than never I guess. Because St. Louis was packed with so much fun, I’m planning on doing a post for each day. Hope y’all enjoy them!
The adventure continued Thursday (July 19th) with Mom, Natalie, Zachary and I heading to Six Flags for the day (Nathan had to work and Dad wasn’t interested). We arrived at the park kind of early so we had to wait around inside before we could go on any of the rides. However, that just gave us time to make a game plan on which rides we wanted to hit first. Once the park officially opened we sped of to our destination: Mr. Freeze, the newest roller coaster in the park. I was kind of nervous about riding it because the one and only time I’ve been on a roller coaster was Space Mountain and Disneyland where I was fine on the ride, but afterwards we went to a Star Wars ride where I freaked out and started crying. Anyways, back to the present(ish), we got on the ride in the first group (except mom) and what a wakeup call it was. We were shot backwards really fast, did some twists and turns, got shot up in the air where you pause and then do the course forwards. WOW, was basically the only thing we could say after getting off, but it was quite fun and we were all pumped to conquer the rest of the world (or park)!!!!!!!!
Then we were off to the other rides. MARCH ON SOLDIERS! We hit a water ride where we got a little wet, and then a wooden roller coaster. Let’s just say you get jerked around a lot. We continued walking around the park hitting basically all of the rides (at the end of the day we had hit all but a few of the rides we could have). At one point we road the Ferris Wheel, which didn’t thrill Zach since heights aren’t really his thing. Up at the top you could see the rest of the park. One thing we noticed was that Mr. Freeze had broke down, which made us glad that we rode it first. Another thing that we could see from up there were the roller coaster Batman and Ninja. That kind of freaked me out seeing what the tracked looked like with corkscrews and loops. AHHHH!!! Natalie had also informed us that your feet dangle in Batman, which freaked me out even more. However, since we weren’t riding on those yet, I tried putting it out of my mind. :D
From the Ferris Wheel, I saw this ride called X-Caliber that looked like fun, so Natalie and I decided to take it on (Mom and Zach passed). We got strapped in and starting spinning in circles with our back lying downwards sort of. Then it starting swinging like a pendulum. Before we knew it, we were up in the air facing the ground. We were not expecting THAT, but we kind of looked at each other and were like “cool”. The really funny thing is that the ride freaked Mom and Zach out more than it did Natalie and I and they were on the ground. Apparently Mom stomach got queasy just watching. lol. After that we took on a more chill ride, literally, it was river rapids so we got a little wet. :D Us kids then hit another roller coaster where we all sat in a cart that spun in circles while going through the track. The best thing about the ride was seeing Zach’s roller coaster face (Natalie and I have sat by each other in all the other rides). It is so hard to describe what it looks like, I wish I had a picture because it is highly amusing!
Another fun ride that we did was a water log ride. All it really is, is a 50 foot drop where you get completely wet at the bottom because of a GIANT splash. It was so fun, we rode it twice (plus it made sense since we were already wet). to exit the ride you have to walk across a bridge that goes over the part of the track. Then you can stand in the middle and get hit with the wave of water from the log. Of course us kids stood there and when the next log came down the hill, WHAM, we got full force of water at us. Now we were definitely dripping with water, but it was totally worth it (and a great way to cool off).
Yet another thing you need to hear about is Superman. This is a 23 story tower where you are strapped into a cart, taken to the top where you sit a little bit, and then are dropped to the bottom in 5 seconds! Natalie was the only one of us brave enough to conquer it. Zach didn’t like the height and Mom and me couldn’t stand the drop. Nat said the view was awesome and the drop was different, but she would do it again….After that we rode a smaller roller coaster, which was lots of fun. The smallness made it easier to enjoy the thrills. After us kids rode it we convinced mom to ride it. Yeah, she wasn’t too thrilled with it like we were. However, later that day she did ride it again with us though she still freaked out a little.
Then we made our way to the my nemesis: Ninja. Yep, we got there and I was still freaked out. We walked up to the top and had to wait a little bit. Up there I kept my backed turned to the course and kept saying, “I’m not going to think about it.” It then became our turn, we hopped in, and were slowly off. We climbed up a hill, then start picking up speed as you go downhill though a loop (yep, you upside down), another loopy corkscrew thing, slow down enough to catch your breath, then you go through a double helix. Want to know what I felt like at the end: IT WAS TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY ROCKEN!!!!!!!!!! All of us kids LOVED it!…We were then off to conquer Batman. We had to walk and walk and walk some more through to get to the top, but luckily there was not a wait. For this ride, and I were both a little nervous since there is no bottom. However, we braved our fear, strapped ourselves in, and were off. The ride had twists, turns, corkscrews, and loops. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!! (The two rides I was most nervous about became my favorite. lol) Later us kids rode Ninja again and Zach and Nat rode Batman again. I skipped it because my neck and back were hurting. :(
Those are really the highlights of the day. However, all the other rides were fun too. We need thrill roller coaster, water rides, kiddy rides, spinney rides, and twirling rides. It was definitely an awesome day!
“That’s All Folks!”
