Friday, July 20th, was B-day. It was Dad’s 60th birthday. WHOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The day kicked off with lots of birthday greeting to dad and, of course, we had to sing him Happy Birthday. Nathan had to work until early afternoon, while the rest of us went to a nearby mall to go shopping. We were there for a while because Natalie was looking for a business suit, which she did find. (She looked so professional.). Afterwards, we chilled out at Nathan’s place for a little bit. Then after Nathan got home, we were off to downtown St. Louis. We walked around a little bit down to the Arch and Mississippi River. Then we made our way over to the ballpark for some baseball. Once we were let in, we made out way down to seats out in the outfield to watch the Cubs batting practice. The really cool thing is that Nathan caught one of the balls that came our way (he also missed a chance at two balls that bounce close to him. Too bad!). I probably annoyed Nate during batting practice because I was always asking who the players were. They no longer have names on the back of uniforms and the Cubs got rid of most of the players that I know (maybe because I haven’t followed the Cubs closely for years) lol. Natalie and I also figured out that the Cubs have triplets on the team. There were these three guys in Centerfield who all had the same brown short curly hair and looked alike (well besides their height). :D
After batting practice was over, we made our way to our seats way up top off of first base. The good thing about our seats was that it had an awesome view of the Arch and downtown. :D After getting to our seats we decided to go get something to eat because what it a baseball game without hot dogs? That’s like totally wrong! The game was fun to watch. I was, shockingly enough, actually rooting for the Cubs (I really dislike the Cardinals). Unfortunately, despite my cheering the Cubs ended up losing 4-1. However, the night was lots of fun. What’s more fun than then watching a baseball game on a summer night, eating hot dogs and peanuts, doing the wave? Yep,we did the wave multiple times. At one point it actually went around the stadium four or five time only to be stopped with a play. lol.
Well, that was our fun day of celebrating Dad’s birthday! And end of Day 3 of the adventure.
“That’s All Folks!”
