IT'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have some really exciting news for y'all.  FOOTBALL IS BACK!!!!!!!!!! (In case the giant, colorful, and underlined words didn't clue you in, I'm super duper excited!) :D I know this post is slightly late since football has technically been back since Monday. However, as they say, better late than never.

Quick side note, who is THEY?!?!? And why do we always just randomly say THEY? Though I guess it's better than saying "as my uncle Bob used to say..." Though now that I think about it I actually have an uncle Bob. lol. Enough of my weird, random side spiel.

Back to football...I have to say I'm soooooooooooooo glad the players and the owners FINALLY reached an agreement. I'm not sure I could survive the Fall (is this supposed to be capitalized? I forget.) without football. I can't imagine not being able to see my AWESOME Green Bay Packers kicking some butt!!!!! (Yeah, I know I claim them as mine when technically they are not, but I just love'em sooooo much!!! Call me crazy if you must..."ok Ally, your crazy"...lol...I really should get out more. :D)Back to the Packers who are the reigning Super Bowl Champs. GO PACKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess, that's really all I wanted to say. I just really thankful football is back in business.

By the way, did you notice I went into a lot of random spiels in this post? :D

Totally & Completely RANDOM!!!!

I've noticed that all of my posts are really long, so last night I decided to write a really short, really random, really real post...

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say rejoice! Let you gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace if God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard you hearts and your minds in Christs Jesus."
- Philippians 4:4-7

The City That Never Sleeps

Hey y'all! I know I haven't posted in a really long time, but the past couple of weeks I have been extremely busy. Now I'm sure y'all just can't wait to hear what I have been up to since I'm just so awesome. lol.

Wednesday (July 6th) afternoon my oldest brother, my sister and I started off on a road trip. We headed out east after work and made it to Elkart, IN. Then the next morning we woke up a little after three in the morning and hit the road again. We were on our way to New York City!!!!! By two-thirtyish (in the afternoon) we could see the Manhattan skyline. It was so awesome. If you have never experienced the Manhattan skyline you should do so. It is truly spectacular!

Friday we all went into the city itself (we were staying with friends in Staten Island). To get from Staten Island into Manhattan we took a ferry across the Hudson, which was lots of fun.
The ferry passes close to the Statue of Liberty and you get some great views of the amazing skyline I mentioned earlier.

It was kinda a hazy day, but still cool

Another cool thing about the ferry is that I got a police escort because I am so special or they were wanting to arrest me!!!!! Either way it was cool. (ok, it really wasn't an escort, but the boat did stay with us for a little while. :D)

My escort. :D

Then after reaching the city we wondered the city and hit some shoe stores for Natalie, who is OBSESSED with shoes. Not fancy shoes, but athletic shoes. :D Then we walked Time Square and went into the three story Toys R Us. It was really cool because they had giant Lego buildings.

We also walked all of Highline, which is old railroad tracks for freight trains that was converted into a boardwalk/park. It was really cool.

Saturday Natalie and I took the metro from Brooklyn back into Manhattan and ended up on the edge of Chinatown. From the metro station we walk down by the East River and passed the Brooklyn Bridge and continued down to Pier 17. Pier 17 has water taxis and other boats and also it is a shopping center. From there we made our way down by the ferry station near Battery Park. We had to, of course, stop at one of the many Starbucks to get caffeine. From there we explored battery park and saw a WWII memorial that has our great-uncle's name on it. Then we wondered Wall Street, seeing the New York Stock Exchange, and were heere at the wall. lol. If the last part doesn't make sense it is because it is a line from National Treasure :) Then we went to Ground Zero and saw how the Memorial Tower is coming along. It has definitely gotten higher since last time we saw it. It now has some glass on it in the middle. Also one of the memorial reflecting pools looks almost done and a visitors center looks almost done. From there we strolled up Broadway, hitting shoe stores and souvenir shops.

Funny story, Natalie and I went to at least a dozen shoes stores on Saturday and Sunday and SHE DID NOT FIND A THING!However, on Monday we visited the Staten Island Mall and she finally found a pair os shoes that she like and that were on sale. Yippee!!!!!!!!

Back to what we did...we checked into our hotel, where we were on the 18th floor (the top floor. We could even see the top of the Chrysler building from our window. SO COOL!)After that we, traveled through Times Square again (we were in Times Square at least eight times. lol :D). Then we made our way past Radio City Music Hall and took Metro up to the Guggenheim Museum. We were planning on walking through it, but there was a really long line so we just walked by it. Then we walked down Central Park and went into it on the South Side. From there, we made our way to Rockefeller Center, where we saw an awesome Lego store. (If you haven't noticed I LOVE Legos!!!!)Finally, we made our way back to our hotel, skyped with our parents and crashed. :)

The next morning we slept in, ate some breakfast, and made our way to the Empire State Building. We went to the 86th floor of the building and IT WAS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!! You can see all of the city and for miles around. You are also able to see all three of the airports: JFK, Newark, and LaGuardia. I think I took around 80 pictures from up there. lol. After that we walked by the Chrysler Building, the UN building and took Metro back downtown, where we just wondered some more. Finally, we took the ferry back over to Staten Island and after taking a bus we finally arrived back at Michelle's place.

All in all, it was such a blast visiting the City the never sleeps! I love New York City soooooo much, from its numerous site to the sweet architecture!!!!!!!!!
